Yuken Teruya
After seeing Peter Callesen's work using paper I found these works by Yuken Tertuya. He creates these sculptures out of fastfood takeaway bags and paper shopping bags. The Okinawa-born, New York-based artist creates treescapes by meticulously cutting intricate shapes from these bags. His work is fuelled by his political commentary on the environment and globalisation, and is informed by his Okinawan heritage.

They are very nice and different. I love the way objects such as this can be photographed, the way light can be captured, and the detailed involved in them.
Yes they are very interesting but i would be interested to now if he only makes trees from the bags? does he branch out into other environmental issues? if not this could be a good avenue to explore.
I think that he only makes trees but I agree, it would be interesting to see other forms... especially concerning the environment.
